Should I tranquilize my pet?
NO! It can be dangerous to your pet’s health because drugs act differently at the pressure of 8000 ft above sea level, which is approximate pressure in the cabin and cargo area during flight. If you are worried about your pet being nervous during transportation, we offer pre-boarding to allow your pet to become accustomed to it’s transport container. By placing a favorite bit of bedding and toys, and feeding your pet inside the container for a few days, the container can be ‘personalized’ to make your pet more comfortable when travelling in it.
Are pets allowed in the passenger cabin?
Each airline is different - some allow pets in the passenger cabin, some don’t. Contact the airline directly for more information.
Can puppies and/or kittens fly?
Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and have their first set of vaccinations. Females with suckling young and unweaned animals
will not be accepted for air transport. Weaned puppies younger than 8 weeks should not be shipped due to possible dehydration during the flight.
What can disqualify your pet from flying?
Your pet may be disqualified from flying for health concerns or in extreme weather (too hot or too cold). For example, dogs with snub noses like boxers or bulldogs have difficulty maintaining a normal body temperature in hot weather so it is not recommended to travel in hot seasons.
Can two or more pets travel together?
No more than two puppies or kittens may travel in the same transport container. The puppies or kittens must be 8 weeks to 6 months old, be of comparable size, and weigh 20lbs or less.
Are there alternative methods of pet shipping?
PAWS ‘R’ US only deals with air transport. For bus or train transport, call the company directly.
How much will it cost to ship my pet?
Rates vary depending on destination, size of pet, etc. For this reason, we would prefer that you call us directly to discuss your situation personally.
